Hi Friends!

Been out of the loop the last couple of weeks. Well as some of you know, I just had a brain tumor removed the other week. My head is still kind of splittng. I begin brain radiation tommorow, go in for surgery this Wednesday to get a port placed and eventually will begin chemo and have have surgery on my liver.
Everytime I try to work on my Forrest Path Stole, I get dizzy. Think I just need to let my head heal. I was able to knit a hat for my friends daughter. I used Noro's Silk Garden. The yarn is just beautiful so it kept it interesting but the pattern was just going round and round and decreasing. I think once I get off some of these meds next week, my head will feel better. I really want to work on my stole.
LOL, my husband said as I was waking from surgery from my brain, I was knitting the air! Too funny!
I have faith it will be alright. Just got to put on my big girl pants again and fight the fight again. My kids are doing great. They are a big strength and of course you are all a big part of my life and I appreciate you all very much.
For those of you that don't have blogs, ya have to send me pics so I can see what you are all knitting!

In the Holiday mood :)

I took a few days break from my FPS to knit up some cupcakes for friends at work. I put a few floral beads in the cupcakes to give it a nice soft smell. I hope my friends will like it! I also had to show you all Jessie's gingerbread man. She let me have one foot! It was so delicious. My son Kino made a gingerbread house at school. My husband left it on a stand outside. When we got home from taking the kids to swimming lessons, one of my dogs ate his gingerbread house!

Ready to begin Tier 7

There was no room for me to post under the pics. Just completed Tier 6. I'm ready to do the right triangle then begin tier 7. I'm liking the feel of this yarn. It is very soft.

Just frogged 3 tiers....

I was in denial for a few days. I tried to convince myself that the pink was okay with the cream and brown in my FPS. I kept knitting on, hoping that feeling of discontent would go away. It didn't. So I began to frog 3 entire tiers. My son and husband watched as I did it quietly. When my stole was down to one tier, I looked up at them and said, I need to blog!!!! Grrrrrr!
Whew, okay, I'm fine. Tommorow is another day and I know that I will be happier without the pink.

Forest Path Stole

Here is a pic of my beginning of the Forest Path Stole. I've knitted up all my base triangles, including my right triangle. Now I can start on my lace knitting :) I don't like to read charts, so I wrote out all three patterns in a little notebook. I'm using Cascade Venezia. It is wool and silk. I have a feeling this stole won't need much blocking. We will see.

Forest Path Stole

I've started on my Forest Path Stole yesterday, the 14th. I got done with my first 20 rows of seed stitch. I tried and tried to begin my beginning triangles and for some reason, my brain isn't working right because it keeps coming out weird so it's in my bag until I can visit Nanea tommorow. I'm definately going to need a low maintenance knitting project on the side as this stole seems tricky. I think once I can get through the first few rows of the enterlac lace, it will be okay. I'm going to have to keep telling myself that.

Ralvalry

Not sure if I spelled that right or not. I just came from looking at all the pretty shawls they have posted on Ralvalry. They are so beautiful. I can't stand it! OMG, these knitters have done just lovely work. After I get done with my Donna shawl, I want to do the Forest Path Stole by Interweave Knits. I ordered the Best of Interweave book and it arrived in the mail the other day. My knitting goal is to finish my Donna shawl by the end of November. We shall see. I had my Moonlight shawl and my friends scarf that I was finishing so my Donna shawl had to be knitted in between. Now it has my full attention. I still have to block my friends Feather 'N Fan scarf. The colors are just gorgeous. I'll post a pic of it once it's blocked.

My patterns arrived!

The top pattern is called Triangeles within Triangles Shawl. The second one is Scotch Thisle Lace Stole. The bottom one is called All over Lace Faroese Shawl. I'm so excited. Don't think I will get to these patterns by the end of the year but I hope to get them all done in the next year. We shall see. Now I'm just waiting for my Interweave collection book to arrive in the mail. I so want to do the Forest Path Stole.

Sheep tape measure

This little guy is so cute. I've been wanting one forever. He arrived in today's mail along with some patterns that I've ordered.

Noro's aurora

A very special friend of mine at work nearly lost her life last week after complications after surgery. My whole unit was devastated. This nurse is remarkable. Luckily, she survived the code and is now extubated. I didn't know what else to do so I sat down and dug into my yarn and pulled out one of my favorite yarns, Noro's aurora. This lady is a gem and I just want her to have something knitted from me. I still have the other half to knit up then I will block it out. She is a real trooper and we just have to take it one day at a time. For now, I am so greatful that she is awake and talking and recognizes everyone.

Silk Garden Stash Enhancement

Aloha Yarn got a shipment of Noro's Silk Garden and more aurora. I promise I didn't buy them all. Nanea's got more left so if you want some, better get there soon!

Moonlight Scarf Blocked

Here it is all blocked out.

Judy Bloome

Not sure if any of you read the Judy Bloome books when you were a young teen. I can't remember which book it was by Judy Bloome but it was about this preteen girl that was going through puberty. She was one of the last girls to get her period. When she finally got hers, she was so very excited. In case you are wondering where I am going with this, my waiting for ralvery reminds me of that preteen girl in the book. All of my friends got into ralvery! I just checked the list, there are 851 people ahead of me. I can't wait to get my invitation to ralvery. The waiting is painful!

On the block!

I'm done with this shawl. I knitted this up using Cascade's Jewel hand dyed wool. The textures were nice to knit. I especially liked the thicker part of the yarn. Right now it is wet and being blocked on my ironing boards.

Crafty friends!

The cute kitty hat was knitted by Donna. She used the pattern from Stitch 'N Bitch. The furry penguin was knitted by Sandy. The sweet cupcake was knitted by Nanea. Her daughter is having a cupcake themed birthday party so she's been knitting these cupcakes up....very cute.

Donna

My Donna shawl got 10 rows frogged this morning. I noticed a huge hole the size of a quarter. No matter how much I denied it, it just had to be frogged! It got put back on the needles and all is well again. It is so not easy taking lace off the needles and trying to put things back together again but I am glad I did.

Meet Hercules

Hercules is watching my daughter grabbing biscuits from the cupboard! Maggie, our lab is laying in the back there.

Anne....or should I name my shawl Donna?

I bought this Shaefer yarn yesterday. It will be used for a KnitAlong at Aloha Yarn. So far, Nanea, Cathy, Donna...and ummm, now me will be knitting up a shawl using a Koigu pattern. The pretty mohair blend you see in the front are two hanks that I could not get my eyes off yesterday at SNB at Aloha Yarn. It is so soft and very pretty. I think I will name this shawl Donna since she has tempted me into knitting it. Her shawl is comming out lovely. The color she picked out is very pretty.

Teacher gifts

I'm making these for teacher gifts.

Knitted cupcakes

Here are some cupcakes knitted up the other night.

Some shawls and wraps.

I knitted this brown shawl using pandora yarn. Very pretty yarn but a major pain to knit. It kept sticking to my fingers the whole time. I actually used bandaides just so I could knit it up.
I used some Noro silk garden an some other yarn (can't remember the name) for this shawl.
I used Crystal Palace shag along with some fizz yarn to knit this up.

Work in Progress

I knitted this up using Cascade's Sierra Quatro. The armpit area is too tight so it will go to my daughter when she gets older. I still need to knit the hood that goes on it.

This is the first shrug I've knitted up.

I knitted this up using Crystal Palace's Merino Stripes.

Another pic

Here's another pic of my new tattoo. It's done on the inside of my left upper ankle area.
